UP AND COMING
2011 WORKSHOPS

September
11th 2011, starting at 9:30am to early afternoon
FOUNDATION TRAINING: this seminar will suits puppies, young dogs
that have not done much agility yet, and dogs that missed some of their
basic foundation. The seminar will cover how to develop jumping technique,
including tight turns, front crosses and rear crosses. We will lay the
foundation of reliable, high speed contacts. We will show the development of
our send and call handling system, including the development of the inbuilt
(intuitive for the dog) signals and how to switch your dog from handler
focus to obstacle focus and back again. There is a limit of 12 working
spots, and these will be divided into two group, according to their age.
COST: $60

September 25th 2011 starting at 8:30am to
4:30ish
October
9th 2011 starting at 8:30am to 4:30ish
DISTANCE HANDLING SKILLS: This seminar will suit dogs all levels.
Morning sessions will be concentrating on how to establish distance work (or
pushing the distance for dogs that already have some distance handling
skills) and how to use those skills in general agility classes, to help our
positioning to control direction changes. In the afternoon sessions we will
work through some gambling sequences. There is a limit of 12 working places,
divided into two (or more) groups according to their training experience.
COST: $110

October 30th 2011 starting at 8:30am to 4:30ish
ADVANCED HANDLING SKILLS: This seminar will suit dogs that are
competing in masters classes, although I will consider dogs with less
experience that have done other training with us. We will work through
several difficult handling sequences, and test our skills on advanced
courses. This seminar will include some distance work. There is a limit of
12 working places, divided into two groups according to their training
experience.
COST: $110
November
20th starting at 8:30 to 4:30ish
This was originally to be a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS COURSE DAY but
has now been changed to novice/intermediate workshop to substitute for the
25th Sept which was rained out.
NOVICE and INTERMEDIATE LEVELS: this seminar will suit dogs that
are about to start trialling, have just started trialling or are competing
in excellent level. We will work through the basics of our send and call
handling system, learning the importance of our positioning to control our
dogs path over the correct obstacles. It will give you a signalling system
that will give your dog smoothly negotiated tight turns (with minimum stress
on the joints) and it will also include some distance work. There is a limit
of 12 working places, divided into two groups according to their training
experience. COST: $110
A preference will be given to those who were already booked in for the
25th September
