This workshop is for dogs and handlers that are just about to trial in novice or are trialling in novice and excellent agility. We will be covering some basic manoeuvres and the foundations of good handling. We will also include some distance handling techniques that will aid in gamblers and open classes and will will help in general agility and jumping classes. We will also be covering some course work, including how to best use your course walking time.

We will be starting at 8:30am, and will finish at about 5pm.
Cost is $95.
Limited to 12 applicants.
A COUPLE OF PLACES STILL AVAILABLE

SUNDAY 8th August 2010
NEED FOR SPEED
This workshop is for those dogs that need to be a few (or many) seconds faster. It will not give a quick fix, speed will not be created in a day. We will, however, be developing exercises to give your dog the confidence to accelerate, to drive ahead of you and to discover there is fun in speed.

We will be starting at 8:30am, and will finish at about 5pm.
Cost is $95.
Limited to 12 applicants.
Application close 23rd July
Notification of acceptance asap after that date.

SUNDAY 12th September 2010
INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED TRAINING DAY
This workshop is designed for dogs that are trialling in masters agility (or at least have some excellent passes, or they regularly train with canine fun sports). We will be creating some tough handling sequences to really test and develop handling skills. Because the class is divided into two groups, we should be able to give a lot of help to the intermediate group, while really pushing the advanced handlers to their limit.

We will be starting at 8:30am, and will finish at about 5pm.
Cost is $95.
Limited to 12 applicants.
Applications close 27th August
Notification of acceptance asap after that date.

SUNDAY 26th September 2010
DISTANCE TRAINING DAY

This workshop is designed to teach dogs to work accurately at a distance. These skills will obviously help in open and gamblers classes, and also help in general agility and jumping classes.

We will be starting at 8:30am, and will finish at about 5pm.
Cost is $95.
Limited to 6 novice/intermediate and 6 intermediate/advanced positions.
Application close 10th September
Notification of acceptance asap after that date.

Application Forms (same form for all workshops)

Applications can be emailed to us. Just click the <ONTACT US> for our email address. Closing date for applications is listed with each class. Payment is due before commencement of the seminar, once your application is accepted. Acceptance for training days is not based on a first come / first served basis. We have a limited number of positions available. So we will be selecting the dogs and people that are most appropriate to the workshop topic, and who best fit the whole group. That means dog/handler teams with particular handling skills. We will also have a bias towards handlers who do not have as much access to our normal daily classes, whether it is because they do not live locally, or work commitments prevent them from attending our usual weekday classes. You will be notified of your acceptance as soon as practical, within a day or two of the closing date.

Please do not be offended if you are not selected to attend. It just might be that your dog is too good for a particular workshop, or we have a number of country applicants.

INSTRUCTOR'S WEEKEND 2010

We usually hold our instructors training two day intensive workshop some time in December. We are still deciding on a date for this year. This workshop is aimed at people who want to instruct at clubs, but feel they need a stronger background is teaching skills to set their students up to succeed in competition, not just at novice level, but to go on to compete at the highest level.

Topics covered include how dogs (and people) learn, the importance of a good foundation, how to teach individual obstacles, teaching sequencing, body language and signals, the importance of verbal cues, how to teach distance work and more.

Just drop me a quick email if you are interested in coming to such a seminar. I will then be able to notify you about exact dates. Otherwise, just keep an eye on this site, where we will publish any updates.
