WHO OR WHAT IS Canine Fun Sports was established by Keith Edwards and Le Hammer in 1995 Initially, we were just having fun with our dogs and our greatest fun was thinking up all sorts of different equipment. Then we became involved in competitive agility, and were bitten by the addictive agility bug. We are now involved in agility pretty much full time including teaching agility, trialling and judging. And even though it is competitive, our first aim is still to have lots of fun with our dogs. We are also involved in the organisation of agility and many other aspects of the world of dogs.
Keith Edwards was involved in teaching dog agility before he was competing in the
sport. He helped to train Ned, and by videoing many of our first agility trials,
he became an expert in observing the handling of others. With this critical
eye, Keith is able to help others improve their handling skills. He is now
a full time agility instructor at Canine Fun Sports.
Keith has trialled very successfully in agility with Winnie, Doc and his young dog Sporty. Keith has been a judge since 2003. He is a member and chairperson of the Dogs NSW Agility Committee - the organisation that runs ANKC agility in NSW. He is the NSW representative to the National body. He is a past president and chief instructor of the Hawkesbury Dog Agility Club and is still involved in a lot of their activities. When this is not keeping Keith busy, he is either mowing lawns at our Castlereagh home or down the back shed building agility equipment. Keith is pictured here with his dog "Doc"

Le Hammer
has owned and bred German
Shorthaired Pointers since 1971. She graduated as a veterinary surgeon in
1986. Back in High School (we will not say how long ago that was) she
trialled in the obedience ring. Then at "uni" she used to show her dogs. She
showed and bred several show champions. You can see them by
clicking here.
After graduating, Le was away from "the purebred dog world" for a few years, although she still had her old dog "Wags". This is when she met Keith - her Scuba Diving Instructor. Le then became involved in training her new pup "Ned" - a son of Wags. This was when she was introduced to agility style training. With Keith, this developed into Canine Fun Sports and the addiction was started. Le has trialled 6 dogs in agility - Ned (no longer with us), Rabbit, Sparkle and Jynx. Murphy is now her main competition dog with Pace, her German import, just starting her trialling career. Between them they have gained more that 60 masters titles including two having their agility championships. Now Le spends time a little of her time in veterinary practice, but more time is involved teaching agility with Keith, then trialling or judging most weekends. She has been a member of the Dogs NSW Aggressive Dogs Working Party, and has been a member of the Agility Judge's Committee. Dhe is a member of the Dogs NSW Voluntary Acrredited Breeders Scheme. Sometimes she finds time to give lectures and seminars. She is pictured with (from left to right): Doc, Ned, Rabbit and Winnie
